Choosing Film Music

To choose my music I went onto a website called audio network and downloaded a few tracks to try and choose for my film opening. I listened to them all and picked the best one, this song was called 'fading colours by Paul Mottram' I thought it matched my film well. To get the copy free music all I had to do was download it and enter it onto my film opening.

Risk assessment

Location
Risks
How to avoid them
Street
Camera stolen/could get dropped and broken
Take care with all equipment, don’t leave it unattended, try shooting on a quiet street/time
House
Equipment could get dropped
Take care when moving equipment and when holding equipment, use holders to improve safety
Actors
Could fall over equipment
Make sure no wires are in the way of pathways and tell them to take caution
Bedroom
Equipment could be broken/ liquids spilt on it
Hold camera whenever using it and when not using camera place it in the bag so it is safe

I created a risk assessment to ensure we had a plan for if anything went wrong and how to avoid them from happening. It could also help us having a smooth day of filming as we had no worry's and no problems

Similar Films

Films which are similar to my film

I researched films that I believed are similar to my film, these would help me as I could get ideas from them and too see how there openings start.

Black Swan - 'A ballet dancer wins the lead in "Swan Lake" she slowly loses her mind as she becomes more and more like the Black Swan.' The film is a mystery/thriller/drama which is similar to my film, the film has a dark element to it which is how I want my film to come across, it is also a challenging film.

Hide and Seek - 'As a widower tries to piece together his life in the wake of his wife's suicide, his daughter finds solace - at first - in her imaginary friend.'
This is extremely similar to my film as to help Amelia get through her life she imagines Anthony. Researching this film I was able to gain some ideas from it. The film is also a horror and thriller.

Identity - '
Stranded at a desolate Nevada motel during a nasty rain-storm, ten strangers become acquainted with each other when they realize that they're being killed off one by one.' This is similar to my film as its a thriller and mystery. In my film it would be a mystery throughout as I wouldn't explain exactly what was going on until near the end. The main characters in this film are teenagers which is also the same as my film.

The girl with the dragon tattoo - '
Journalist Mikael Blomkvist is aided in his search for a woman who has been missing for forty years by Lisbeth Salander, a young computer hacker.' Although my film hasn''t got a similar storyline, the main actor is who I would like my character to act like - her life is very messed up and she is brilliant at acting like it. It is also a thriller and I could get some ideas from the film.

Side Effects - '
A young woman's world unravels when a drug prescribed by her psychiatrist has unexpected side effects.' This film has elements of a person with mental health issues which is similar to my film so it can help me gain some knowledge of how my actor needs to act. It is also a thriller and has elements of the films storyline which I could mix into mine.

Shutter Island - '
U.S. Marshal Teddy Daniels is investigating the disappearance of a murderess who escaped from a hospital for the criminally insane and is presumed to be hiding nearby.' This film has elements of people with mental issues which I could gain information from and it is also a thriller.

Life On Mars Preparation

Before starting our life on mars task, we wrote out a shot sheet to help us know what shots that I needed to use. We also included how long the shot takes place for as we needed to copy same time as the clip.
